Live online classes

Live group classes, capped at eight

Level-matched classes on Toronto time, where you speak for minutes at a time instead of seconds.

Small by design

Why eight and not eighteen

Real speaking time

In a class of eight, each learner speaks for roughly twenty minutes an hour. In a class of twenty, it is four.

The teacher knows you

Your instructor tracks your specific errors week to week and plans around them.

Genuinely matched levels

A placement test before every intake, so nobody is drowning and nobody is bored.

Never lose a week

Every class is recorded and posted the same day; you keep access for the whole term.

Flexible attendance

Cancel twelve hours ahead and take that lesson with another group the same week.

Written feedback

A short note after every class: what you did well, one thing to fix, one task for the week.

Weekly timetable

New terms start every eight weeks, with rolling intakes if seats remain. All times are Eastern Time.

Inside the classroom

What a class actually feels like

You arrive, the camera goes on, and within ninety seconds you are answering a question in French that you were not prepared for. That is the point.

Nobody is put on the spot cruelly, and nobody is allowed to hide. The instructor rotates deliberately, pairs you into breakout rooms with different partners each week, and writes down the errors worth fixing rather than interrupting your flow.

I had taken French classes twice before and quit both. The difference here is that you cannot coast — there is nowhere to hide in a group of six.

The Saturday Québécois lab is the best hour of my week. I finally understand my in-laws.

My instructor noticed I kept avoiding the past tense and just quietly built three weeks of class around it.

Class questions

Take the free placement quiz, then confirm it in your trial class. If the level is wrong we move you — there is no charge and no awkwardness.

Watch the recording, or take that same lesson with another group in the same week. Cancel at least twelve hours ahead and the make-up is automatic.

Zoom, with a shared digital whiteboard. You need a camera, a microphone and a reasonably quiet room — headphones make a noticeable difference to everyone else.

Often yes, if seats remain and the level fits. We will tell you honestly whether joining in week five will frustrate you, and pro-rate the fee if it will not.

Not currently. Keeping groups online is what lets us match levels tightly and cap them at eight. In-person is available for private lessons across the GTA.
